Researching Job Portraits? Here’s everything you need to know in one place.
(Last updated October 2018)
Sometimes Google doesn’t cut it. Even when we, the Job Portraits team, search for Job Portraits, it takes too long to find the good stuff. So whatever the reason you’re interested in us — job seeker? client? partner? — we’ve done the digging for you.
Here’s what we wish showed up on Google (in this order)
- The Job Portraits website.
- Our blog, which doubles as our careers page.
- Our Medium publication, which includes about half our client projects.
- A video of Miki and Jackson (our cofounders) talkin’ shop.
- Our post about Job Portraits’ editorial principles and process (or, why candidates can trust us).
- The post Miki and Jackson wrote when they started Job Portraits in 2014. Parts are out-of-date (of course), but it covers why we’re in this business in the first place.
- Our Twitter and AngelList profiles. (Our other social profiles aren’t very active.)
Meet our founders
- Miki’s profile, personal website, LinkedIn, and Medium

- Jonaki wears the creative lead hat with a focus on long-term projects.

- Grace manages all things social media and has a knack for research.
- Christina edits. And sometimes writes. She also will edit this when she sees it.
Learn more about our culture
- This post describes the values, tempo, and instincts that govern our culture, as well as our daily activities and the things we make.
- We use this process when we interview job candidates.
- …But what are we looking for in candidates? Over this direction we wrote about our criteria for evaluating candidates.
- We interviewed ourselves about working for us (hella meta, we know).
- Sorta related, our job openings are here.
News articles
As far as we know, no one has written about us or mentioned us in a news article. Nor have we sought coverage, for what it’s worth. We’ll add links when it happens, even if they’re critical. (Our inner journalists wouldn’t have it otherwise!)
Finally, a pro tip: Do we know people in common?
Maybe! You should check, and, if you trust the person(s), ask what they think of us. We’ll do the same (if we haven’t already). References go both ways. :)
